Thanks for the kind words but I'm not nearly as impressive as you think. I first posted those goals three years ago and then updated them a year ago and then now. My five novels were published over five years. Not particularly fast at all. And then there's the twenty years before the first one was published when I was writing and being rejected. This is a slow and steady kind of a business. As I'm sure you know.

I've only been to one RWA National conference - the one that was right here in Chicago where I work.

I did get to pitch to agents and editors, which was a good perk.

I learned things from the workshops, traded business cards with other writers.

It was okay as conferences go, but I don't plan on taking a plane to get to any of the others. I usually go to the Love is Murder conference that's usually in a NW suburb of Chicago. 2010 they're not having one, but it will resume in 2011. I get more out of that one.

Believe me, it was not small feat. I had renamed the book a couple different times and I actually wrote the book about five years ago. So getting back to that original scene was not easy. It also didn't help that I'd had two computer crashes since I started that book. It pays to back stuff up. Again and again and again. :)
